Notes:
Pre-1965 years tend to be challenging for me, not necessarily in a bad way - with some exceptions, pop music was more about singles than albums, so I feel more inclined to check out other genres I'm maybe less familiar with, such as jazz. Also, I often find myself missing a good, rockin' distorted guitar (though the Bo Diddley live album has some overdriven leads and is probably the most "punk" thing released in 1963).
I really wanted to get to A Christmas Gift despite the fact that it was early August - I therefor decided to throw in a Johnny Cash Christmas album and declare August 1 "Christmas in August".
The Playlist:
This ended up just being way too eclectic to organize in any sort of logical manner, but it's probably still a fun listen, especially on shuffle.
Top 5:
5. Charles Mingus - Mingus Mingus Mingus Mingus Mingus
4. Various - A Christmas Gift For You From Phil Spector
3 John Fahey - Death Chants, Breakdowns & Military Waltzes
2. The Beatles - Please Please Me
1. Bob Dylan - The Freewheelin' Bob Dylan
